|
A two-time All-State
basketball standout, Verge was among the West Suburban Conference leaders in
nearly every statistical category. Alonzo was named to the All-State
team in both the 1986-1987 and 1987-1988 seasons. During his senior
season Verge led the WSC Silver in scoring (25.8 points per game); assists
(7.7) and steals (4.2); and was among the top five players in rebounds
(8.3-4th); field goal percentage (52.7%-5th); and blocked shots (1.1-5th).
Verge would become the Panthers all-time leader in scoring (1,440 points)
and assists (423). |
